Our solar lighting systems are fully self-contained and require no grid connection. Solar-power lighting consists of a solar panel or photovoltaic cell that collects the suns energy during the day and stores it in a rechargeable maintenance free deep cycle battery. At Dusk the intelligent controller senses when there is no longer any energy from the sun and automatically turns the LED light on using a portion of the stored energy in the rechargeable battery to run the light for a full nights use.
Highly efficient Monocrystalline Solar Panels

Photovoltaic cells in solar panels are solar cell that change sunlight into electrical energy. During the Day this energy is transferredd to a Power Storage.
Maintenance Free Deep Cycle Batteries

The electrical energy revitalizes and recharges the battery on a daily basis. The controller features an integral LED driver and solar charge controller in one unit
All night operation or desired running hours

The controller unit turns on the light each night when it detects little or no light. The light operating mode can also be set to desired lighting requirements.
Our solar lights are set up to run for a full night, with approximately 3 nights battery back up at zero charge. However the light can also be set at the controller to create different desired light running hours. Our lighting set ups can be customised for your needs so if a longer battery backup is desired please feel free to contact our team.
We use a highly efficient Mono-crystalline solar panel. Our panels have a 21% efficiency which is the highest commercially available. Mono-crystalline technology is the most tried and tested technology with only minimal degradation of the panel with only 0.15% every year. Therefore they still operate at 80% after 20 years.
Our solar set ups can be custom made to your requirements. We have solar lighting kits available which include; pole, batteries, solar panel, wiring with connectors, luminaire and controller. The kits are designed for easy installation and with a 12v set up. An electrician is not required.
It is easy for you to select a light with our Light efficiency charts. These charts demonstrate the light coverage of each of our solar setups. But rest assure when ordering our sales team will talk you through the lighting requirements for your location and help you to make sure that the lights meet Australian standards for public lighting. A free lighting consultation can also be arranged.
Installation of traditional lighting, which means tying your light fixtures to an electrical grid system, requires trenching and underground wiring. The process is lengthy, costly and inconvenient to yourself and others. Then, you have the endless expense of monthly electrical bills. Costs associated with underground wiring, on-site transformers and electrical enclosures are nearly always greater than the newly installed solar lights. Please see our light comparison chart available to give you a better understanding of cost benefits with Solar lighting, these are available on the product information pages.
LED stands for "light- emitting diode". An individual LED emitter is a semiconductor diode that emits light when voltage is applied. Connecting a diode to an electrical current excites the electrons within the diode, making them release photons, which we see as light. Our Luminaires are fitted with high- power light emitting diode (LED) chips.
LED's offer several key benefits over other lighting options, including higher energy efficiency (lumens/watt), better durability and a significant reduction in maintenance cost due to their longer life. These benefits translate into a lower overall product- life cost with high efficiency. They are a solid state component and have no fragile filament or gas therefore can be intrinsically safe and are sealed.

We can assist from the design stage through to installation and servicing. With our fabrication facilities we are able to custom design lighting to suit your lighting requirements. Feel Free to contact us for further information -CONTACT US: info@plgaustralia.com.au PHONE: (03) 5940 3615
